Discover the best easy appetizers, main dishes, sides, and desserts for effortless, stress-free hosting!
I’ve always enjoyed hosting friends and family, and a few years ago, my husband Zane and I started having our weekly small group in our home for dinner and discussion. Now that I regularly feed 20+ people, I have had lots of trial and error practice with the best recipes to make and serve to large groups! I’ve found that prioritizing easy, delicious, make-ahead recipes takes the stress out of hosting and allows me to be present with my guests during the gathering.
From main courses to appetizers to desserts and more, these are my go-to, tried-and-true recipes for feeding a crowd! If the idea of hosting and cooking for a group of people makes you feel overwhelmed, let this blog be your guide to easy, make-ahead recipes that will alleviate your hosting stress. Let’s spend less time in the kitchen and more time mingling!

Appetizers for stress-free hosting:
From dips to sliders to my favorite “redneck charcuterie board” and more, these appetizers are always a hit with guests!
- Chattown Meatballs: Chattown Catering in Chattanooga, TN is known for their meatball recipe, and one taste will have you understanding why! I first tasted these at a wedding and was blown away. These can be served on their own as an app or with noodles for a main pasta dish.
- Turkey and Cheese Pretzel Sliders: Perfect for a tailgate or Super Bowl gathering, these handheld sliders are so easy to assemble and bake.
- Slow Roasted Cherry Tomatoes for the Best Appetizer Ever: Roasted with garlic, olive oil, and rosemary, these cherry tomatoes are packed with flavor. Serve them with goat cheese, crusty bread, and extra fresh black pepper for the ultimate appetizer. If you’re having a nice dinner party, these are a simple yet elevated option.
- Alabama Redneck Charcuterie with My Favorite Pimento Cheese Recipe That Is Perfect for Any Occasion: Redneck charcuterie is a combination of Conecuh sausage, pimento cheese, pickles, and saltine crackers. The homemade pimento cheese is a note-worthy favorite.

- Buffalo Hot Wings Chicken Dip: Who doesn’t love buffalo chicken dip? It’s creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor from the buffalo sauce. I like to prep this ahead of time and keep it in the fridge until I am ready to reheat and serve.
