What Every Woman Over 50 Wants to Know About Her Skin (My Dermatologist Answers it All)
I put out a question box on my Instagram Story, asking you to share your most pressing skincare concerns, and the response was everything I needed to see: so many of us are sitting with the same questions and not getting straight answers! Sagging. Crepey skin. Jawline changes. Melasma. Collagen confusion. Lines that seem to appear overnight.
So, I sat down with my dear friend and dermatologist Dr. Jo Herzog to get into the nitty gritty of all of it. We cover what is really happening to your skin after 50, why it is happening, and what actually works to address it. Dr. Jo does not hold back, and that kind of honesty is exactly what our real midlife skin concerns deserve. If you have been looking for real, straightforward solutions, this is the episode for you!

Who is Dr. Jo Herzog?
Dr. Herzog, a provider at Elite Skin, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She attended CUNY, including a year studying in Britain, and later pursued graduate work in medical anthropology at Cornell University before earning her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After completing her dermatology residency at Penn State—where she met her husband—she moved to Alabama, ultimately settling in Birmingham to raise their five children.
She has since completed extensive training in cosmetic, aesthetic, and surgical dermatology and has participated in numerous clinical trials, including those involving widely used cosmetic fillers. Known as an experienced injector, she has worked with a wide range of products and trained other physicians. Inspired by her mother’s artistic background, she brings a creative eye to her work. Dr. Herzog is active in several professional organizations, is a past president of the Alabama Dermatology Society, and enjoys tennis and time with her family.
