Considering a Facelift? 10 Things to Think About Before You Say Yes
In this episode, I’m sharing my personal facelift experience and the thoughtful process behind my decision. From choosing the right surgeon and technique to deciding between an endoscopic and deep plane facelift, I open up about what I prioritized—refinement, not reinvention.
I also discuss recovery, maintenance, additional treatments like CO2 laser and lipo, and why cosmetic procedures are never truly “one and done.” This is an honest conversation about how to find what’s truly right for you and how to make the best decisions that align with your season of life.

10 Things I Thought Through Before Getting a Facelift
-
I was extremely intentional about choosing my doctor.
This decision starts and ends with who you trust. I looked for strong credentials, a surgeon with excellent bedside manner, and someone whose techniques aligned with what I wanted.
-
My goal was refinement, not reinvention.
I didn’t want to look like a different person. I just wanted to look like a more rested, refreshed version of myself.
-
I focused on what truly bothered me.
For me, that was primarily my neck area. I was very specific about addressing the areas that were bothering me rather than trying to “fix” things that weren’t.
-
I carefully considered the type of facelift.
I chose an endoscopic facelift instead of a deep plane facelift. Every approach comes with different levels of correction and different recovery times. I had to weigh how much change I wanted against how much downtime I was willing to endure.
-
The goal was subtle.
I wanted people to say, “You look rested,” not “What did you have done?” I considered it a win when people couldn’t quite put their finger on why I looked refreshed.
-
I let my season of life guide me.
Different seasons call for different approaches. I took inventory of what bothered me in this stage of life and let that guide my decisions. I also reminded myself that adjustments can always be made later.
-
I respect that everyone’s journey looks different.
What felt right for me may not be right for someone else. These decisions are personal, and I believe we should be respectful of each other’s choices.
-
I view this as maintenance, not a one-and-done overhaul.
I didn’t feel pressure to stack every possible procedure into one surgery. I chose what I felt I needed, knowing I could always tweak things later if I wanted.
-
I combined a few procedures thoughtfully.
Along with my facelift experience, I did a CO2 laser treatment and abdominal liposuction. I had a tummy tuck two years prior and chose not to do lipo at that time, which I later regretted. This time, I felt confident in combining procedures based on my goals.
-
The maintenance continues.
A facelift doesn’t stop the aging process. Parts of the face can still lose volume over time, which is why I use Sculptra to maintain results. I also stay consistent with high-quality skincare, including chemical exfoliation, Vitamin C, and retinoids to maintain my CO2 laser results.
