My Favorite Protein-Packed Ninja CREAMi Treats
Ever since I bought my Ninja CREAMi, I have been completely obsessed with making delicious protein ice cream!
If you follow along with Family Savvy on Instagram you probably have seen me talking about this amazing appliance. I love using my Ninja CREAMi to make protein ice cream, and I never imagined a protein-packed dessert could taste so good! Not only do these desserts taste like your favorite blizzard or frozen yogurt, they also support your health goals. Whether you want to scoop your ice cream into a bowl or eat the entire pint, you can feel great about enjoying these treats anytime!
What’s So Special About The Ninja CREAMi Ice Cream Maker?
The Ninja CREAMi has gone viral on social media, and many of you may have seen it and wondered if it is worth it. In my opinion, the short answer is absolutely yes! Though it has a powerful blade, the Ninja CREAMi is different from a blender. It is specifically engineered to take frozen liquid and churn it into creamy, delicious ice cream in a matter of minutes! I have gotten so much use out of mine, so to anyone on the fence I would recommend getting one and trying it out for yourself!
Where do I buy the Ninja CREAMi?
I ordered mine from Ninja, but the Ninja CREAMi is sold many places!!! I linked to several places that typically have the lowest price, so be sure to check around for sales. I also linked to some of my favorite ice cream accessories. NOTE: You will want to be sure to buy extra canisters so that you can make and freeze many flavors at once. I ordered 12 (but I make a LOT of ice cream)!
How Do I Get A Creamy Ice-Cream Consistency?
There are several secrets to achieving a thick and luscious creamy texture with your Ninja CREAMi. First, the base should be creamy. Whole milk or 2% will be creamier than nut milk or skim milk creations. The protein shakes that I use are all creamy~even the plant based ones. Second, add milk to the second spin. Many times my “first blend” will be powdery. I just add milk and spin again! It usually only takes one more spin~but I have had to spin three times before! Just practice until you find the right ingredients and number of spins to get the consistency you desire!
How Can A Ninja CREAMi Support My Protein Goals?
While you can certainly use your Ninja CREAMi to make traditional ice cream with cream and sugar, many people have utilized this amazing appliance to support their health goals! For many of us, especially for women, getting adequate protein throughout the day can be very challenging. Enter protein ice cream! Not only is protein ice cream an amazing way to get anywhere from 30-50 grams of protein in, but it also means you can eat the entire pint! To make delicious protein ice cream, the most important thing is to use a protein shake or powder that you enjoy the taste of. For shakes I love to use OWYN and Fairlife, and for protein powder, my favorite is Truvani! These high-protein ice creams are the perfect treat to satisfy your sweet tooth while meeting your goals!

What Are Some Of Your Favorite Ninja CREAMi Protein Ice Cream Recipes?
When it comes to protein ice cream, there are just as many variations as traditional ice cream! The sky’s the limit for flavor combinations, and it is so fun to play around with new recipes! I’ve made many Ninja CREAMi recipes, but the two I find myself making time and time again are Chocolate Protein Ice Cream and Strawberry Biscoff Protein Ice Cream. Scroll to the bottom of this post see these recipes!

Do You Have Any Favorite Mix-Ins?
“Mix-ins” are like extra toppings that you would add to your ice cream! My favorites are gluten free Oreos, Biscoff cookies, crushed M & M’s, a peanut butter cup, melted Biscoff cookie butter, dark chocolate chips, or butterscotch chips. For the holidays, I will surely add some Andes mints for peppermint chip ice cream!! Whatever you like~add it in!!!
How Do I Add In Mix-Ins?
I like to mix my frozen creation on the “ice cream” setting rather than “lite ice cream,” but play around with what you prefer! I always wait to add in until after the first (or second) spin that gives a creamy consistency. Once creamy, I simply make an indention in the middle of the ice cream and add in my candies, cookies, whatever! Then I press “full” and “add ins” for the final spin. It is so easy!!!!

My chocolate protein ice cream could not be more simple! With only four ingredients, it will satisfy any chocolate craving with its rich, decadent flavor. To make it you need the following:
- 2 OWYN chocolate shakes – These each have 20 grams of protein, which takes your ice cream pint to a whopping 40 grams! I love OWYN because they are low in sugar and have such a great flavor. These are also plant-based, so this ice cream is totally dairy-free.

- 1 tsp salt

- 3 Lotus Biscoff cookies

Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Ninja CREAMi:
A Ninja CREAMi is definitely an investment, and before I bought mine I was unsure of just how much use I would get out of it. These are my top tips for maximizing this amazing appliance!
- Find a place for your Ninja CREAMi- If it has a permanent home you’ll use it more! I keep mine in my appliance garage for easy access.
- Buy multiple Ninja CREAMi pint containers- this will allow you to freeze multiple creations at a time!
- Stock your fave protein drink so you are always ready to whip up a protein-rich dessert!
- Buy several different types of mix-ins and store them in glass containers near the CREAMi
- Make several versions in one week to get acclimated and find your favorite! Using the Ninja CREAMi is super easy once you get the hang of it, but if you’ve never used one I would recommend playing around with it a few times until you find what you like best.
